I just wonder if this problem really gone on the model with the pen (13-acXXX).Originally launched as stylish high-performance ultra-portables, HP’s Spectre-series laptops have quickly gained popularity among multiple user segments. So I will manage to get my money back or at least to switch to the model with the pen like you. This time it took actually 3 weeks and they changed the battery.īut as I expected nothing changed at all.Īfter calling them, they took control of the laptop and actually applied the "sphinx" fix.īut again nothing changed at all (except I lose a percent or two less) which is still problematic for me. So I call again and explain again the problem.Īgain they decided to send the laptop again. I tracked the parcel and I was surprised that the laptop took the comeback ride the same day a couple of hours later.īut I noticed that they did absolutely nothing! I explained the problem, and they decided to let my laptop going in the repair center in. For me this is not acceptable at all (All the same it is a €1700 laptop!) I wait many months in order to be able to buy that ! In my case the drain is more than just noticeable. I also have a model from 2016 without pen(13-w001nf). Glad I returned mine while I still could!
Hp spectre x360 battery drain free#
But shame on HP if they don't offer free replacement to the people with the late 2016 model number 13-W013DX.

Good for HP if it is fixed in the new model number 13-AC013DX. It's the only explanation because it's not cost efficient for a company to design, develop, make, market, and sell a product 4 months later thats EXACTLY identical except 1 thing. I suspect this new model has a hardware part replaced that stops it battery drain when off.

It has all the same specs as the 1 that came out only just 4-5 months ago, except it comes with a stylus. Not per day.Īnyways HP came out with a new 13 inch Spectre x360 this month. Just as I stated in my original post it's 0.5 to 0.75% per hour. Sure 1% discharge every 1 or 2 days while turned off is understandable, but this is several times worse than that. Meaning it's 100% to dead in a week!!! Unless you misunderstood, I can't believe you would even try to claim that as a normal battery discharge. Sorry, but if you think loosing 12-15% when turned OFF in just 1 day is"normal" then you are not understanding the functionality of batteries. It's depressing because I really do like this laptop a lot. If HP has not fixed it by my return period of January 15th then I will be returning mine for a different laptop. To see others retiring this problem and more detail on this major system bug refer to this forum topic on HP. Dozens of us with the Spectre x360 have reported it. Unable HP has refused to publicly acknowledge this issue and has not fixed it after many months of this problem happening. People with the kaby lake and sky lake models have both reported this problem. Or if you turn it off with 20% for 2 days it will be dead until charged again. Meaning if you charge yours to 100% and turn it off for over a week then it won't turn on cause the battery will be dead. The battery drains at about 0.5-0.75% per hour while it is turned OFF.

Since I did not see it on here I wanted to make everyone aware of a major known issue with the Spectre x360.
